I respond to the life of the found books with my own life, highlighting their weirdness with further estrangement, and in this way revaluing both history and experience.
I rip, tear, tape, glue, sew, and paint with an automatic method in order to reanimate the senses and the world with it. These books include a Washington D.C. memorial site book autographed by members of the U.S. Air Force, and a book called, “A Day in the Life of America”, which represents the country through the perspectives of multiple photojournalists. It kept its original title and the book actually went on a road trip across America as I worked on it.
